CLOSEREAD.AI

A Universal Detector for AI-Generated Writing

New: Our Guide to Tricking This Detector

You are welcome to upload the same, or similar, texts to CloseRead.AI multiple times. (In the tech world, this is called “iterating.”) If your goal, in doing this, is to create a text that fools our detector, we suggest the following strategy:

  1. Don’t try to fix every single paragraph. Instead, aim for a ratio (HUMAN vs. AI) you can get away with. Don’t let “perfect” be the enemy of “done.”
  2. When you ask an AI to help you write drafts, try guessing how our detection engine works. That way, you can guide the AI by writing detailed, comprehensive prompts, modifying them every time you create a new draft. As a rule of thumb, your prompts should be a full paragraph each, or longer.
  3. Staying on task is vital for this. Beating our engine is difficult, detail-oriented work. Allow yourself ample time. Longer documents may take several days. In rare cases, the process may take a week — or more.
  4. Inserting your own thinking, your own voice, into AI-generated text can help a lot. Consider rewriting at least 60% of the AI’s draft in your own words, using your own ideas.
  5. Working towards a functional, deceptive text can get a bit frustrating. Please contact us (by email) if you need additional help beating our detector. In your email, please include a complete description of what your AI wrote, what you’ve done to evade detection, and any important data we need spelled out for context. If you’ve already submitted multiple drafts, please describe that whole process as well.
  6. Don’t lose heart! Fooling the detector can be a slow process, compared to generating similar texts yourself. But it can also be a fun and challenging way to pass the time, and nothing feels better than achieving victory — at last!
